Grocery Bagging info. from Francis

Hi Band Parents and Students,

Grocery bagging at Sobey’s is just 5 days away (Saturday, October 7). Since all the shifts have not been signed up for (24 of the 80 shifts are still open), we now open it up and students can sign up for as many shifts as they’d like.

Remember a student can make around $15 an hour so if they don’t have any credits yet, this is a quick and easy way to get credits to pay for their first trip deposit.

I ask that all parents and students sign in and check the schedule. At every grocery bagging, we have students who sign up and forget to inform their parents OR have parents who sign up their child and forget to inform them and then find out they can’t make the shifts they are signed up for. Even if you don’t think you or your child is scheduled, please check to make sure.

We are still in need of parents to supervise the students and help roll coins. There are 23 slots needed by parents and right now only 7 are filled. Sheila Simmonds has agreed to take on organizing the grocery bagging events this year and it would be a big help for her to have the support of other parents so she isn’t there all by herself.

Thanks and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
